Before You Come

What to bring.

The only thing you absolutely need is a valid, government-issued photo IDproving you are 21 or older. This includes a state driver's license, state ID, US passport, military ID, or valid foreign passport.

Bring cash or a debit card. We do not accept credit cards due to federal banking regulations. An ATM is available on-site if you need it.

That's it. You do not need a medical card, a reservation, or any prior cannabis knowledge. We handle the rest.

Checklist

  • Valid photo ID (21+)
  • Cash or debit card
  • Questions (write them down if it helps)
  • An open mind
The Process

Four steps to your first purchase.

The whole thing takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Here is how it works.

01

Check in at the door

A staff member will greet you and check your government-issued photo ID. This is required by New York law for every customer, every visit. Once verified, you are welcome to come in and look around.

02

Browse or ask for help

You can browse our display cases on your own, or ask a budtender for recommendations. If you tell us your experience level and what you are looking for, we can narrow down the options. There is no pressure to decide quickly.

03

Choose your products

Once you have found what you want, let a budtender know. They will pull the product, explain the label (potency, dosage, suggested use), and answer any remaining questions. You can change your mind at any point.

04

Pay and go

Complete your purchase at the register. We accept cash and debit cards. An ATM is available on-site. Your products are placed in a sealed, opaque exit bag as required by New York law. The entire process typically takes 10 to 15 minutes.

Our Promise

No judgment. Ever.

A significant percentage of our customers are first-time cannabis buyers. Our staff is trained to be patient, clear, and welcoming. There are no stupid questions, no awkward silences, and no pressure to buy anything.

Walk in knowing nothing about cannabis and walk out understanding exactly what you bought, how to use it, and what to expect. That is what we are here for.

Questions to ask our staff

  • 01What do you recommend for someone who has never used cannabis?
  • 02What is the lowest dose edible you carry?
  • 03Can you explain what the THC and CBD numbers mean on this label?
  • 04I want something relaxing but not too strong. What would you suggest?
  • 05How should I store this product at home?
  • 06What should I do if I feel like I took too much?
Product Types

Cannabis products explained.

A plain-language overview of every product type we carry and whether it is suitable for beginners.

Flower

Beginner OK

Cannabis buds that you smoke in a pipe, bong, or rolled joint. Effects are felt within minutes and last 1 to 3 hours. Good for people who want to control their dose in real time.

Pre-Rolls

Beginner OK

Pre-made joints ready to light. No grinding or rolling required. Same experience as flower but more convenient. Great for first-timers who want to try smoking without any prep.

Edibles

Beginner OK

Gummies, chocolates, and infused foods. Effects take 30 minutes to 2 hours to begin and can last 4 to 8 hours. Start with a low dose (2.5 to 5 mg THC) and wait at least 2 hours before taking more.

Vapes

Beginner OK

Cartridge-based or disposable vaporizers. Discreet, fast-acting, and easy to dose. Inhale a small amount and wait 10 to 15 minutes. Good for beginners who prefer not to smoke.

Tinctures

Beginner OK

Liquid cannabis drops placed under the tongue. Effects begin in 15 to 45 minutes. Precise dosing with measured droppers. No smoking or vaping required.

Concentrates

Experienced

High-potency extracts like wax, shatter, and live resin. These are intended for experienced users and require specialized equipment. We recommend building familiarity with other products first.

Start Low, Go Slow

Dosing for beginners.

The single most important rule: start with less than you think you need. You can always take more. You cannot take less.

Smoking / Vaping

Take one small puff. Wait 10 to 15 minutes. If you want more, take one more puff. Effects peak in about 15 to 30 minutes and last 1 to 3 hours.

Edibles

Start with 2.5 mg to 5 mg of THC. Wait at least 2 hours before considering a second dose. Effects can take 30 minutes to 2 hours to begin and last 4 to 8 hours.

Tinctures

Place the recommended starting dose under your tongue. Hold for 30 seconds, then swallow. Effects begin in 15 to 45 minutes. Wait at least an hour before taking more.

If You Take Too Much

Stay calm. Find a safe, comfortable place. Drink water. Eat something light. The feeling is temporary and will pass. No one has ever died from a cannabis overdose.

Effects

What cannabis feels like.

Effects vary from person to person and product to product. Common experiences include:

  • A sense of relaxation or calm
  • Elevated mood or mild euphoria
  • Enhanced sensory perception (music sounds better, food tastes more interesting)
  • Increased appetite
  • Altered perception of time (things may feel slower)
  • Physical heaviness or lightness depending on the strain

Some people experience dry mouth, red eyes, or slight anxiety, especially at higher doses. These side effects are temporary. Staying hydrated and starting with a low dose minimizes the likelihood of discomfort.

Common Concerns

We hear you.

Honest answers to the things first-time customers worry about most.

I'm worried about feeling too high.

Start with a very small amount. One puff, or 2.5 mg of an edible. You can always take more, but you cannot take less. The effects of smoking and vaping wear off in 1 to 3 hours. If you do feel overwhelmed, stay in a safe place, drink water, and remind yourself the feeling is temporary.

Will people judge me for not knowing anything?

Absolutely not. A significant percentage of our customers are first-time buyers. Our staff is trained to be patient, clear, and non-judgmental. There are no stupid questions. We would rather you ask than guess.

Is it safe?

Every product we sell is tested by an OCM-approved laboratory for potency and contamination. Cannabis is one of the most heavily tested consumer products in New York. While cannabis does carry risks (impairment, overconsumption), buying from a licensed dispensary ensures the product is what it says it is.

I don't want to smoke anything.

No problem. Edibles, tinctures, and vapes are all alternatives to smoking. Edibles and tinctures involve no inhalation at all. We can help you find a method that works for your preferences and comfort level.

I have a medical condition. Can you advise me?

We are not doctors and cannot provide medical advice. If you have a medical condition or take medications, we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider before using cannabis. We can share general product information, but your doctor is the right person to discuss medical suitability.

After Your Visit

After your first purchase.

  • 01

    Use at home first

Your first time trying a new product should be in a safe, comfortable environment where you can relax without obligations.

  • 02

    Keep notes

Write down what you tried, how much you took, and how it made you feel. This helps you (and us) make better choices next time.

  • 03

    Store products properly

Keep cannabis in a cool, dark place, away from children, pets, and direct sunlight. Edibles should be stored where they won't be mistaken for regular food.

  • 04

Come back and tell us how it went

We want to hear your experience. If something worked great, we can find more like it. If it wasn't right, we can adjust the recommendation.

  • 05

    Explore at your own pace

There is no rush to try everything. Stick with what works, and branch out when you feel comfortable.
