Park Slope
South and west of the park
Park Slope sits on the western side of Prospect Park. From the north end of the Slope near Flatbush Avenue, you can walk to Atlantic Avenue in about 15 minutes. From deeper in the Slope, consider the B/Q or F/G trains to get north faster.
Windsor Terrace
Southeast of the park
Windsor Terrace is a quieter neighborhood on the park's southeastern edge. The walk to Atlantic Avenue is longer, but the F/G train from Fort Hamilton Parkway connects you to Downtown Brooklyn in about 10 minutes, putting you close to TNT.
Walking from the Park to Atlantic Avenue
The most direct route from Prospect Park to Take N' Toke is to exit the park on the north side, near Grand Army Plaza or along Flatbush Avenue, and walk north on any of the avenues that cross Atlantic: Vanderbilt, Washington, Classon, or Franklin.
From the Grand Army Plaza entrance, it is about a 10-minute walk north to 994 Atlantic Avenue. The route takes you through the heart of Prospect Heights, past restaurants, cafes, and neighborhood shops. It is a pleasant walk in any season.
If you are on the south or west side of the park, cutting through to the north exits is faster than walking around the perimeter. The park's internal paths are well-marked and bring you to Grand Army Plaza in about 15 to 20 minutes from most southern entrances.
Post-Park Shopping and Cannabis Culture
Combining a park visit with a dispensary stop has become part of the Brooklyn routine for many locals. The area north of Prospect Park is full of places to eat, drink, and shop. A dispensary visit fits naturally into an afternoon that includes the park, the Brooklyn Museum, or the botanic garden.
Cannabis culture around Prospect Park is relaxed and community-oriented. This is a neighborhood where people know their budtenders by name and where a dispensary visit is as normal as a coffee run. The goal is not to make cannabis special. It is to make it accessible.
